Berthing Revenue - It's Plain Sailing with ZeagBelfast Harbour's leisure craft facilities are situated at the head of Belfast Lough within a 10 minute walk of the City centre. The Abercorn Basin is located against the stunning backdrop of the new Arc apartments, and adjacent to Belfast Odyssey Arena, the new berths are centrally located within the vibrant Titanic Quarter of Belfast. Electro Automation ha Once a visitor berths at the facility they take a berthing ticket and payment is made in advance at the ZEAG OrionXR fully automatic pay station. A special feature allows the appropriate tariff (according to length of vessel and duration of stay) to be stepped though and selected. Payment is made by credit card, and the system logs these details. Only the code on a validated (and current) ticket is accepted at the gates for entry and exit, thereby safeguarding the area. Electro Automation used Oris numeric sequence keypads as a connected part of the ZEAG OrionXR system. These accept the code which is printed on each validated ticket. Data transmission is completed wirelessly to the Harbour Masters office using the innovative Burst data transmission system, and the intercoms use GSM technology. All statistics are recorded for later analysis on the Zeag ZMS Management System. This also offers remote wireless diagnostics and control of the floating pontoon system. The present facility, located in Abercorn Basin, was installed to host the Belfast Tall Ships Festival in August 2009 and was funded by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Belfast Tall Ships 2009 Ltd, 240m of pontoons were installed and the Basin was dredged to a depth of 4m.
